Coach Copelan took the reins at Fairfield in 2008 and has elevated the team to national prominence. In 2010, the Stags defeated NCAA Runner-up Notre Dame in the first DI lacrosse game held in the state of Texas. Three of Coach Copelan’s former players are now playing in the MLL. Andy came to Fairfield from the University of Maryland, where he was an Assistant Coach. In 2006, he helped the Terps to the Final Four. At Maryland, he was the Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. He got his coaching start at Marist College where he became the NCAA’s youngest Division I head coach and led the team to its first NCAA tournament berth. Andy played collegiately at Bucknell where he was All-Patriot League as well Academic All-Conference.
Andy will be joined on the staff by other collegiate coaches, Division I players, and many of Florida’s best high school coaches. He is very excited to direct this Florida summer lacrosse camp.
