This GameBreaker Lacrosse camp at Benedictine University will be directed by Ryan Martin.

Ryan Martin steps in for his first season at the helm of the Oswego State men's lacrosse program for the 2011 season.

Martin joins the Lakers after having served as the assistant coach at Nazareth College for the past four seasons. The Amherst, Mass. native served as defensive and recruiting coordinator for the Golden Flyers as well as film coordinator. His efforts helped Nazareth capture the Empire 8 Championship and receive trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2007 and 2009 and an ECAC Championship in 2008. In four seasons with the Golden Flyers, Martin worked with eight USILA All-Americans, two Empire 8 Conference Players of the Year, and four USILA Scholar All-Americans. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he served as the Nazareth intramural director.

Prior to joining the coaching staff at Nazareth, Martin had stints as an assistant coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for the 2006 season and Hampden-Sydney College for the 2005 season. He was responsible for working with goalies and defense at both institutions, while also serving as the recruiting coordinator at RPI. Martin also served as the interim head coach at RPI during the summer of 2006, continuing the recruiting process and communicating with incoming freshmen and potential recruits.

As a player, Martin was a standout at Ithaca College where he played three seasons in goal for the Bombers and acted as team captain for two of those years. Martin earned All-America honors in 2002 and 2003 and was recognized as the Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year in 2002.

Martin graduated from Ithaca in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and received his Master's degree in Business Administration from Nazareth in June 2010.

Former Fairfield University Assistant Coach Geoff Champney will assist Coach Maritn.

Geoff coached the Stags for two years, including 2001 when they advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time and produced the school's first All-American player. He hails from Baltimore where he had a storied high school career at Dulaney High School. Geoff was named a High School All-American and was voted the MVP of the HS North / South All-Star Game. He went on to play collegiately at Towson University and Fairfield University. Geoff has coached high school lacrosse at Fairfield Ludlowe HS in Connecticut and Highland Park HS in Illinois.
