Directing this GameBreaker Lacrosse camp at Furman Univeristy is Lauryn Wise, Assistant Coach at Limestone College.
One of the most decorated players in team history, Wise was a member of four straight Conference Carolinas championship teams and helped lead the Saints to a 54-14 overall record and three trips to the NCAA Tournament Semifinals.
During her career, the native of Pasadena, Md. compiled 191 goals, 35 assists and 224 points while starting 74 of the 78 games she played in. Her goal total is the most in program history while her 224 points are the third most ever by a Lady Saint and the 35 assists rank ninth all-time.
She is also second all-time with 159 draw controls and fourth with 79 caused turnovers in addition to a bevy of single season marks. Among those are the top two scoring seasons with 64 goals in 2009 and 59 in 2007 to go along with the second and fourth most points in a season, respectively, with 73 and 71 in those same years. Her 60 draw controls as a senior still rank first all-time while her 32 caused turnovers as a freshman is currently fourth in team history.
As a result of her prowess on the field, Wise garnered a number of impressive individual awards throughout her career. That list is topped by a pair of Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association First-Team All-America selections in 2009 and 2007 as well as three All-Region honors. She was also named as an All-Conference Carolinas selection three times, including being named the 2009 Player of the Year. She also earned a pair of All-Tournament honors, coming in 2006 and 2008, and was named Tournament Most Valuable Player as a freshman.
Most recently Wise has put her extensive lacrosse background to good use as she has served as the head coach of the CYLA Storm, a 4th and 5th grade club lacrosse program that she helped establish in Pasadena, Md. She has also worked in the University of Maryland-Baltimore County athletics department and served as an assistant coach for the lacrosse program at her alma mater, Institute of Notre Dame High School.
In addition to her duties with the women’s lacrosse program she will also serve as an assistant in the athletics operations area, helping to oversee game day management of athletic events. A 2009 graduate of Limestone College, Wise holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Secondary Education from UMBC.
