Gregg Gebhard has just completed his second season as an Ohio State assistant coach. The primary coordinator of the Buckeye offense, Gebhard guided the Buckeyes in scoring a school-record 14.94 goals per game in 2009, a mark that stood as sixth best in the nation.
Gebhard came to Ohio State in the fall of 2008 after serving as an assistant coach at Bucknell during the 2007-08 season. There, he helped the Bison average their own school-record 12.8 goals per game as the program's offensive coordinator.
Prior to joining the Bucknell staff in 2007, Gebhard served as head coach at Greensboro College from 2003-07, posting a record of 36-28 overall and 19-3 in the USA South Conference. During that time period, the Long Island, N.Y., native also worked with USA Athletes International, identifying and preparing players to compete in the Down Under and Prague Cups.
As a player at Division II Pfeiffer University, Gebhard was a two-time All-Deep South Conference selection in lacrosse and the 1997 Deep South Tournament MVP. Upon graduating from Pfeiffer with a bachelor's degree in sports management and a minor in business administration in 1998, Gebhard was hired as head coach of the women's lacrosse program at the university, a position he held until 2002. Within four years of establishing the program as a varsity sport, Gebhard led the team to its first national ranking. He would post a 19-24 record at Pfeiffer while also serving as sports information director.
